Due to my shrinking schedule and life eating up even more of my free time, I unfortunately have to put this entire project on hold. Many due apologies to all of you that have been looking forward to the project with much enthusiasm despite the lack of updates, but I simply do not have the time to continue work on this as my life takes turns for bigger and better things. Also, I have decided NOT to release what I had made of the engine (yet) since I think it doesn't represent the game very well (yet) and still needed a lot of tweaking and additions before being shown to the public.
Again, all due apologies. I hope someday I will be able to return to this project in some form, but I have to focus on other things right now. There's still plenty of other pony things I'm making right now, mostly involving Doctor Whoof and his many wacky adventures. If you're interested, please check them out in my gallery and see them for yourself.
I wanted to hold off introducing the game concept I've been working on recently until I had more to show for it, but I've hit the point with it that I can't continue until I have a sprite artist that can help me out with it.
What you see here is a temporary logo I made for the new fangame I am working on, given the temporary title of MLP FIM: Rainbow Shootout. The game is a side-scrolling shooter based game, the first of it's kind that I've developed. (Almost all of the other games I've made were platformers.) The game involves the player playing as (you guessed it) Rainbow Dash, and has the player flying through the skies of the My Little Pony world destroying clouds and shooting down bad guys from the skies.
When it comes to shooting them down however, that's where RD would get help from her many friends. By rescuing other ponies that float by in a bubble (not quite sure about that yet), RD would receive help from Twilight, Pinkie Pie and a host of other characters from the show. Twilight shoots down the baddies riding on RD's back, while Pinkie Pie uses a blowhorn to send out a wave a sound. Those skills aren't set in stone of course, but they give a general idea of what the many characters in the show could lend to taking down this invasion of baddies.
The engine for the game has so far been programmed from scratch in Game Maker by yours truly, and right now currently needs sprites before I can move on with it's production. I'm in a desperate need of help with this area of making the game (and if someone wants to lend their MLP knowledge and help keep things straight, that would be appreciated as well), so again, if you can or know of anyone that can help me out with getting this done, please let me know ASAP!
